This is a current model available by Life Fitness, and is a very effective, well-designed abdominal machine. In order to build and strengthen the abs, weight resistance is a must. Simply getting on the floor and doing crunches and leg raises, is not nearly as effective as resistance training.

Hammer Strength seated standing shrug in excellent condition. This is a perfect unit for performing shrugs, dead lifts and even bent rows. You can load up a ton of 45. or 100 lb. plates on this unit. It is much safer and easier in the lower back (and just as effective) than using free weights.
