Precor Icarian linear counter balanced smith machine. This is one of my personal, favorite smith machines because it doesn't have any angle or slant. The majority of smith machines these days, have a silly 10 or 15 degree angle and they are horrible. This is a current model Precor, based on the classic Icarian line. With no angle, the tension is actually on the muscle the duration of the movement, throughout the entire rep. This machine has silky smooth linear bearings and is built like a tank. Cybex counter balanced linear smith machine in excellent super clean condition. This specific machine is popular for a few reasons. First, there is no awkward angle. The bar/path is perfectly vertical, which keeps the tension on the muscle that’s being worked and not away from the body. Second, this unit is significantly shorter than most commercial smith machines, making it perfect for low ceilings. Third, the bar goes all the way to the floor, making deadlifts, bent rows etc. possible. With many smith machines, the bar stops just short of the knees.
